Athens Undreground (2011-2018), is a short film but also a video intallation based on 6+1 of Athanitis films. The original title is Hidden City (Poli Krimeni o.t.). As a video installation is a work in perpetual progress.

Aiming to rebuild-reveal the image of the city, the Athens Underground/Hidden City project is an original composition with visuals from six+one feature and short fiction Athanitis's films, where an unknown city bursts out. From his black and white first films to  the hard blue of the last one, unexpected images come out to recompose a town unknown, eerie, hidden well. Spaces are filmed as if they were persons. They breathe hollow, they have strong signs of life on them. Sites that no longer exist, places that have been transformed, spaces that one can not ‘read’.  A hidden city.

Athens Undergoround  was the only reference on Greek visual arts in the extended global review on visual arts, of the Italian art site, Cultura Universale, February/2012.

The show has being  presented in various art galleries in Athens, Thessaloniki, Lesvos and goes on.
It has been presented also as a short film in TSIFF, gaining a special prize.
