WHY CINEMA NOW, TIFF

An anniversary edition of Thessaloniki Film Festival for the 50 years of the festival.

From Roman Polansky and Walter Sales to Costa Gavras and Wim Wenders, directors and other film artists who have participated
in the International Competition of TIFF, or they were special guests, answer to the question
about the importance of filmmaking today and give their own personal reason to keep creating.

Dimitri Athanitis is included in this edition. He was in the International Competition 1997
with his film No Sympathy For The Devil, gaining the Best Actress Award for Lena Kitsopoulou,
while he was nominated for Golden Alexander.

"I believe in a cinema that leads one to rediscover the world"
                                                                                             D. A.
