2000+1 Shots is the first part of a trilogy on Athens of the first decade of the new century. First part on the expectations of millenιum, the second part is on the Olympic Games euphoria in Planet Athens and the third one comes with the appearance of crisis in Three Days Happiness.
On New Year’s Eve of the year 2000, the paths of eight persons cross in unexpected ways. A businessman, who weavers between his wife and his mistress, faces an extortion of extremes. An unemployed man becomes a hired killer to escape from his misery. A child wanders the streets alone, trying to survive.
A fresco of a city, a fresco of a planet as a new era is supposed to arrive. The personal stories of eight Athenians combined with tele-news playing in every house, create a story that comes over the personal. Is the dawn of the millennium the beginning of a new era, or is it that behind all the glittering celebrations, people are experiencing a different reality?
